Dirk Strider:

That's when a puppet pops up in front of you, and god is it creepy. You shriek and throw yourself back away from it. Instead of hitting the pavement like you expect, you land in someone's strong grip.

A boy closely resembling your classmate, Dave Strider, holds you in the crook of one arm, and that puppet in the other. The style is more spiked and anime looking, but that's a very familiar looking color of blonde hair. His shades are crazily pointed, but they still hide his eyes. Even his mouth is that same damned expressionless line.

"Are you related to Dave Strider?"

"Do you realize that this is hardly the time to ask that?"

"I-I, uh..."

"Didn't think so. I'm taking you back to your house now."

He grabs your hand and starts to drag you away. You're at first out of sorts. He pops up out of nowhere and suddenly tries to drag you around. He can't do that.

Shaking your head for clarity, you dig your feet into the path.

"W-wait a minute! What do you think you're doing?" You exclaim.

"I just told you I'm taking you home. Dave has school tomorrow, so do you."

So he is Dave's legendary older brother. The name Dirk Strider comes to mind and you glare. The last thing you want to deal with now is another Strider.

You got paired with Dave once for a school project. He bluntly stated he was too cool for such a thing and left all of the work to you. You did all of the work, and he got the grade. The resentment kind of lingered with you.

"Your name is Dirk, right?"

No response, you will have to take it as a yes.

"Well my name is (f/n) (l/n), and don't care to be pushed around by a Strider. I have business here, so just go away, please." Leave it to nerves to make you polite while angry.

He's silent. You tug your hand, but his grip is still strong. Glaring, you pull on his wrist with your other hand, but it makes no difference.

"What kind of business?"

You stop tugging.

"It's not really anything important."

Your voice drops in volume.

"Then tell me."

Your hand goes limp. He doesn't move an inch, face still voice. It makes you angry, but there's another emotion beginning to bubble up.

"Why do you care?"

Your voice comes out as a quiet monotone. He's asking, but he's just like everyone else. There's not even point of making up a lie.

"Because I want you to tell me."

That's a lie. Nobody really wants you to tell them. Plenty of people have asked you to talk. The moment you open your mouth, they shut you out. They say they understand and you just need to buck up.

You've gone to others with hope. You'd love for someone to listen, but nobody responds to your attempts. You don't even need them to understand.

"Don't you lie to me!" You scream. "Nobody ever listens! You don't really care, so it's none of your business!"

You breath heavily, heart racing with rage. After a second, tears follow your outburst. You drop your head and let them pour into your hands.

"Damn it, I'm not lying." There's irritation laced in his voice.

You lift your head to shout at him, but come to face his chest. You're silenced as his strong arms wrap around you tightly. You stare in surprise before you glare. You struggle to free yourself until you hear him speak again.

"You can't just assume that everyone is the same." His voice is raised. "Some people are assholes, but I'm right here. I'll listen to you if you want to say anything. I know other people who'd love to listen too. I...You...You just don't have to feel like there's only one last resort."

Suddenly, the warmth of his body disappears. You stare wide eyed at the nothingness in front of you. You twirl in a circle and find there's nobody else around. Dave was telling the truth. They really can flash step.

-Next Day At School-

You stride through the hall, head held high, and rage pouring off of you in waves. After everything Dirk said to you last night, you started to trust him. Then he just flash steps out of sight and leaves you. He is not going to get away with that.

The school day is over, and you are looking for Dave. You're going to be walking him home.

You spot the trademark head of light blonde hair and make your way over.

"Dave!"

He turns to you from his locker, and stares blankly. You give him a sickly sweet smile, and close his locker for him.

"I'm going to be walking you home today." You state with false sweetness. His only indication of acknowledgement is a raised eyebrow. "I need to have a word with Dirk." You growl.

You aren't positive, but you'd swear you saw the tiniest hint of a smirk on Dave's lips before it's gone.

"Yeah, whatever. That's cool."

He walks away with you following close by his side. The walk to his apartment is silent. Him with his cool kid facade, and you with seething rage. You really don't know why it pisses you off so much, but you're on fire.

Even after a practically endless ascension of stairs to the Strider abode, you still thrive with energy. Excitement bubbles in your chest as you wait for Dave to open the door.

"Bro, I'm home." Dave drawls as he walks inside.

Dave immediately takes on a fighting stance. Ignoring all possible reasons as to why, you push past him with a glare.

Just as you step into the apartment, Dirk comes to a skidding halt about three inches from your face. Rage forgotten, you freeze up. He's so close you can feel his breath on your lips. Glancing down, you see a drawn katana in his hand.

"I brought a friend with me." Dave states with a wave as he absconds to what you assume is his bedroom.

Dirk calmly backs up and stares at you blankly. It is that exact look that reignites the fuel to your flame. Your shoulders tense, and you attack.

"I can't believe you!" You start with a shout. "After everything you said last night, I finally started to think you could be okay. Bad idea to be okay with a Strider. You actually made me feel really nice for the first time in a really long time. Like somebody really cared! Then all of a sudden you flash step out of there and leave by myself. I should've known you were just l-."

Strider flavored lips on yours brings a swift end to your tyrade. Your eyes go wide, and Dirks hands hold onto your shoulders.

When he pulls away, you still blankly stare in shock.

"I wasn't lying, but feel free to hit me if you want."

You do just that. Then you do a bit more.

Raising a hand, you smack him across the face. There's a red mark in the shape of your palm on his cheek. His glasses are knocked askew and you catch a glimpse of remorse in fiery orange eyes.

He really didn't want to piss you off. He had a bit of a problem last night. As he spoke to you, he felt a wave of emotions tackling him. Striders don't cry, and he had to get the hell out of there. He had every intention of meeting up with you later, if you'd forgive him.

"That is for leaving me." You growl.

You then grab a fistful of his shirt and yank him down. You plant your lips to his roughly. He responds quickly, kissing back just as fiercely. He nips your bottom lip, and you part your mouth. His skilled tongue slips in and tangles with yours. You wrap your arms around his neck to pull him closer, and he grips your waist tightly.

"Ahem."

You both pull back to face Dave. Your face is heavily flushed, and you pant for breath. Dirk is completely undisturbed.

"Apple juice." Dave states.

Now you know for sure that you just caught him smirking. That insufferable prick!

Dirk steps back, pulling you with him. You realize that you were just snogging in front of the kitchen entrance. Apple juice makes a bit more sense now.

"Can I assume I'm on your good side again?"

You look to Dirk and glare, your face heating up into a bright blush.

"Damn Striders."
That Strider charm!!!! Enjoy a bit of Dirk!

I really like this one. I kind of added a bit of my attitude filled anger to the reader once they get themselves back together. Prep yourself to show that Strider boy who is boss!
